Speaking at UEI Plc’s annual general meeting last week, chairman Peter Michael gave a progress report on a number of the group’s operating companies: he said Quantel will end the first half of the year on target – the Graphic Paintbox is reported to be achieving significant sales in the US after a slow start last year and the company plans to introduce a number of new products at the IPEX Printing Exhibition and the IBC Broadcasting Exhibition in September; the Miles 33 acquisition reports an improvement in business during the first half of the year with Greenway Harrison and Burrup Mathieson placing orders for major updates to their systems, and there has also been success in the US with sales extending into the Midwest from the established East Coast business.
