UC4 Software, a provider of service automation and IT process optimisation offerings, has inttroduced a new Rapid Automation package for VMware environments. The new offering, which works with VMware vSphere and VMware vCenter server, combines the UC4 V8 Automation Engine, new UC4 Agent for VMware environments and fast-start process templates.
UC4 said that the new virtual machines can brought into backup and maintenance strategies and simplify the creation and monitoring of jobs on multiple virtualised servers by using virtualisation automation capabilities.
The company said that Rapid Automation packages combine the UC4 V8 Automation Engine, application-specific agents, and fast-start process templates to simplify deployment, reduce operating cost and speed time-to-value.
According to UC4, the new functionality in the UC4 Agent for VMware Environments helps enable users to provision, deploy or reconfigure virtual machines on demand to manage peak processing loads and meet SLA’s; control VMware Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS) and VMware Distributed Power Management (DPM) based on business needs; and reduce administrative cost by creating and deleting snapshots.
Vincent Stueger, CTO of UC4 Software, said: "Customers need a single, holistic view of their apps and processes running across hybrid computing environments. With UC4 and VMware vSphere, customers can run their most critical processes in virtual environments with the confidence that they will be completed at the right time, every time."
