UBS is thought to have signed an agreement with the Hyderabad government to build the new facility, which is expected to be operational in nine to 10 months.
Reports say construction of the center has already begun, although the company did not disclose how many staff it would take on.
Hyderabad was chosen after the firm investigated Bangalore, Pune, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, said one report. UBS already outsources IT and back office operations to third party firms in the country. It now joins software giant IBM, Bank of America and HSBC, which also conduct their own back office functions in the city.
