Twitter has redesigned its micro-blogging site in a bid to make it make it faster and simplify its navigation.

According to Reuters, the Twitter’s new avatar was officially revealed by chief executive Dick Costolo at the company’s future headquarters in San Francisco on Thursday. The updated site will be made available to all users in a few weeks.

Costolo said, "As other services tack feature after feature after feature on top of each other, we’re going to go in an entirely different direction and offer simplicity in a world of complexity. This new Twitter is really a foundation for us."

"Discover" is new section which displays content based on the user’s location and interests. "Home" is a section where users read incoming tweets, while "Connect" displays your interactions with other users. Besides, the new version also features a new profile page for companies.
