Twitter has started the alpha testing phase for the development of the micro-blogging application for Android platform users, offering some users an earlier appearance of the modifications to the app.

The micro-blogging site is also seeking Android users to give their feedback on the latest mobile app in a bid to make it better, before implementing them for all consumers.

The latest alpha phase follows the beta phase, which was embarked in August 2013 as the Android Experiment Program.

According to Mashable, the alpha tester programme would be offered only to limited people, including to those who had already participated in the Android Experiment Program.

The multiple phases would allow users to provide feedback, analysis, suggestions and comments to the micro-blogging site via an online forum.

Earlier, Twitter had rolled out a beta app for registered users in the programme with a new interface that boasts a new design and updated functionalities, 5.0 version features seven swipe-able tabs rather than four, including new tabs for messages, activity and finding people.

Recently, Twitter value hit $24bn soon after it raised $1.82bn in IPO through the sale of 70 million shares.
