Twitter has joined forces with Apple and SoundCloud to bring a new service called Audio Card, which will allow Android and iOS users to play music, audio clips and podcast from their timeline or message feeds.

Users will be able to select and enjoy the track while reading the tweets without any interruption, and its partnership with iTunes will let users buy selected music directly from iTunes Store.

However, Wall Street Journal reported a person familiar to the matter saying that Twitter will not get any share of the purchases made through iTunes, but it is expected to increase user interaction and time spent on the micro blogging platform.

Currently only one track is available from the iTunes library titled "Something From Nothing," but Twitter has promised SoundCloud’s partners including Coldplay, David Guetta and Warner Music will bring their audio into the service.

In its blog Twitter said: "Many more musical artists and creators will be able to share exclusive, in-the-moment audio to millions of listeners on Twitter."

The new service is expected to provide Apple and SoundCloud a new medium to promote their audio content.

SoundCloud has previously used Twitters player card to share audio but users have to pause tweeting to listen to the track, but with the new service users can enjoy their twitter experience by docking the track into a corner.
