The new network will support the entire factory infrastructure, which spans nearly 11 million square feet.
Tofas/Fiat has been an Enterasys customer for over a decade, implementing Secure Networks technology at its Istanbul headquarters and a design facility at Uludag University in Bursa.
The Secure Network at the manufacturing plant supports more than 5,000 workers, from factory technicians and engineers to executive management.
The 1,600-node network leverages Enterasys Matrix X secure core routers, Matrix N-Series distribution switches and Enterasys SecureStack switches at the network’s edge. NetSight Console and Policy Manager provide centralized management and security of the multivendor IT infrastructure.

Mr Akkaya also said the infrastructure contributed to the firm’s objective of reducingexpenses by 20%, and provides visibility and control of the entire network, which translates into longer uptimes, and if something goes wrong, faster repairs.
