Due for release in Japan in February 2007, the Turbolinux Wizpy is more than just an MP3 player, however. It also boasts video and e-book capabilities, as well as an FM radio, and a live-boot Linux installation to turn any attached PC into a Linux workstation.
Based on Turbolinux’s Fuji Linux operating system, the Wizpy will also feature applications such as the Firefox browser, Thunderbird email client, and Skype internet phone application.
It is expected to cost in the region of JPY 30,000 ($259) when it debuts in February. There is no mention of international availability at this stage.
