The Tokyo, Japan-based Linux distributor has entered into a joint venture agreement with India Action Plan Company Ltd to create Turbolinux India, which will be based in Gurgaon and will have initial capital of INR 27.2m ($700,000).
Turbolinux will own 55% of Turbolinux India with Indo-Japan services firm IAP owning 45%. The company is expected to launch in April and will have four primary aims: establishing sales centers across India, creating a support center for English-speaking customers, launching a development center for global products, and providing support for Japanese companies entering the Indian marketplace.
