Den Bosch, Netherlands-based Tulip Computers NV’s production has soared over the last six months thanks to a revival of demand and a stable European market share, reports Reuters; it is about to top its nominal capacity of 200,000 a year; Tulip’s European market share over the first six months of 1994 was stable at around 1.5%; it is especially pleased with foreign growth; market growth in the Netherlands, where Tulip generated 49% of total turnover in 1993, was slowing down after its sales volume rose 30% earlier this year; it is aiming for 4% of the European market for professional personal computers in coming years; to realise this it must increase production to 600,000 computers from an estimated 128,000 in 1993 on to Dataquest figures; it could expand production to 250,000 units if it introduced a fourth shift; the firm said in July that it would start building a new factory this autumn to raise capacity to at least 300,000 by 1996.
