Ambitious Tulip Computers NV is back to full health with its year-end 1994 figures, and the Den Bosch, Netherlands personal computer manufacturer now has designs on the US market. It says it has applied to the Dutch government for an industrial grant to help realise its growth ambitions; it already has a $12.6m grant under its belt that it won last month to expand its business in Asia. The company looks for 20% of its turnover to come from the US within a few years. Under the terms of the state grant, Tulip would own 20% of a newly-formed US company, with the rest held by a fund that groups Dutch venture capitalists and is run by the government. For the year just under way, Tulip sees strong sales growth and favourable development of profit.
