TULIP COMPUTERS THORN IN THE EYE OF IBM NEDERLAND

Fast-growing Tulip Computers NV, which now claims 2% of the European market for personal computers, is beginning to become a real thorn in IBM’s flesh, and IBM Nederland NV has decided to cut it down to size: it is suing the company in Rotterdam, seeking an injunction to have it stop using an allegedly pirate BIOS in its MS-DOS machines, and seeking unspecified damages; IBM says it had tried in vain to negotiate a settlement with the company.
