TSB CHOOSES UNISYS FOR THREE-YEAR DEVELOPMENT EFFORT TO COMPUTERISE MANUAL ROUTINES

By CBR Staff Writer

TSB Group Plc was one of those closely-fought battlegrounds where Sperry and Burroughs used to slug it out, and where Sperry finally came out on top with the monster 1100 installation up in Greater Manchester for the Altrincham Group which has now become the central TSB computer system: the battles are all academic now because Sperry and Burroughs are Unisysed, and given its long experience of working with the two former rivals, it is not too surprising that TSB Group has now chosen Unisys for a monster UKP60m three-year development effort to computerise manual routines supporting counter service throughout its UK network: contracts are due for signing in August.
