Oracle Corp has introduced the Developer’s Release of its forthcoming Trusted Oracle Version 1.0, high security database: it is initially available under Digital Equipment Corp’s Secure VMS and Hewlett-Packard Co’s HP-UX BLS: a version for compartmented mode workstations such as DEC Ultrix MLS+ will be available in 90 days and versions for emerging systems such as SunOS CMW and ICL Plc DRS/NX V4.0 Security Option is expected within 90 days of full production availability of those systems; Trusted Oracle and Oracle 7.0 have now entered the design analysis phase, the second of three phases in the US National Computer Security Center’s Trusted Product Evaluation Programme; Trusted Oracle is under evaluation at the B1 level and Oracle 7.0 at C2 level.
