Truevision Inc president and CEO Louis Doctor says that the digital video for desktops company had been concentrating on the Windows NT market for the past two years, and now derives approximately 70% of its revenues from NT-based systems. Its target markets are the post production, broadcast news and sports, and corporate, government and education sectors. Truevision uses proprietary ASIC technology to boost the power of PCs so that they can be used as an alternative to workstations for broadcast and professional video production and multimedia business communications and training products. It sells through OEMs such as Avid Technology Inc, Matsushita Electric Co/Panasonic and Sony Corp, as well as through VARs and direct sales. In early March Truevision begins shipping its new Bravado 2000 for Windows next-generation video editing system, aimed at first-time non-linear video users create professional quality content.
