Truevision Inc of Indianapolis, Indiana has released Truevision 1024-32, a Windows accelerator card for AT-class machines running graphics applications under Microsoft Windows 3.0: the engine couples acceleration for Windows 3.0 with an interlaced display at 32-bits per pixel; the card accelerates graphics-intensive Windows applications packages and PhotoStyler at eight display resolutions up to 1,024 by 768 pixels; Truevision 1024-32 provides file conversion and screen capturing functions for desktop publishing, and it exports 13 different file formats; also, Optimised Image Compression technology enables compression of large image files at ratios of up to 10:1, supposedly with no visible loss in image quality; Truevision 1024-32 is a 16-bit, single slot card for 80286 or 80386-based ATs and compatibles; in a standard configuration, the card has a 4Mb frame buffer, and in accelerated mode, it 1,024 by 768, 800 by 600, and 640 by 480 non-interlaced display resolutions, as well PAL, NTSC and VGA resolutions; the 1024-32 can be enhanced with snap-on daughter boards of 4Mb or 16Mb of dynamic random access memory and it ships with drivers for Windows 3.0 and 24-bit Autodesk Device Interface; available in late August, the Truevision 1024-32 in its standard configuration costs $3,500, while the 4Mb and 16Mb daughter boards are $1,000 and $4,000 respectively.
