ISE-Tritech’s Tritech Corp, one of the big three Belgian distributors, based in Groot-Bijgaarden, is moving into the client-server computing and object-oriented programming tools market. A deal signed last month with Gupta Technologies Inc, Menlo Park, California, gives Tritech access to the range of Gupta products, including the Quest graphical reporting and data access tool, and SQLWindows, an application development system for Windows 3.0 that incorporates object-oriented programming techniques. The deal covers Benelux; Tritech’s French partner, ISE International SA, has had a similar pact with Gupta in France since 1987. SQLWindows is pushing into the same market as Digitalk Inc’s SmallTalk/V Windows and Micro Data Base Systems Inc’s Object/1. Under the agreement, Tritech also gets the rights to Gupta’s SQLBase Server database server and SQLNetwork communications software.
