Trinity Convergence said that its VeriCall family of IP communications and multimedia software is now available for the i.MX51 family of applications processors from Freescale Semiconductor.
According to Trinity, the VeriCall Edge 4.0 provides consumer electronics (CE) manufacturers an embedded software platform for designing multimedia and real-time voice/video communications functionality into IP-connected devices.
The company has already licensed VeriCall software for the i.MX51 to OEMs manufacturing multimedia phone, set-top box and smartbook devices. Its collaboration with Freescale benefits CE manufacturers by providing a service that supports high-definition voice and video calling, as well as a broad range of multimedia capture / playback / transmit functionality.
VeriCall Edge 4.0 includes a media quality module (MQM) and facilitates in voice and video processing, as well as call control protocols such as SIP, the company said.
