Transaction Systems Architects Inc, the Omaha, Nebraska electronic payment software supplier, has bought Dutch smart card and systems integration company Media Integration BV, known as MINT, for $29.3m. Privately-owned MINT claims to be a market leader in multifunctional smart card systems and offers an application development platform and integration with the front and back office. Apart from its Dutch base, MINT has a strong position in Australia. Transaction Systems says its products are used on more than 3,000 product systems in 70 countries and are employed in wire transfers, credit and smart cards, home banking and automatic clearance and settlement.
