TOSHIBA’S SALE TO SOVIET UNION “CRIME OF BETRAYAL”

Meantime Toshiba Corp must be feeling pretty friendless even back home: while opposition politicians try to whip up anti-US feeling by saying that the Americans have sold computers to China that have been used to develop missiles that are pointed at Japan, Japanese premier Yasuhiro Nakasone told the Diet firmly that Toshiba Machine’s sale of computerised lathes to the Soviet Union was a crime of betrayal against the Japanese people.
