Toshiba Inc is using Advanced Micro Devices IncÆs K6-2 processors in its latest portables, on sale in Japan this week. The new Dynabook Satellite 2520 will use a 300MHz K6-2, including the 3Dnow set of multimedia instructions. The systems are replacements for the 2510 portables, which used 266MHz Pentium MMZ processors, and also use the Virge 3D graphics accelerator from S3 Inc. ItÆs not clear when – or if – the systems will be sold outside of Japan.
