TOSHIBA SAMPLES DIGITAL VIDEO DISK MPEG DECODER CHIP

Toshiba Corp will starts sampling a chip that provides real-time decoding of digital video pictures compressed to the MPEG-2 standard for the agreed Digital Video Disk standard in January. Samples of TC81201F will cost $100. Production at a rate of 100,000 units a month will start in April.
