In preparation for its entry into the US desktop and server PC markets, Toshiba America Inc’s computer systems division (CSD) has trimmed its second-tier management, losing VP marketing Vaughn Hysinger and VP service and support Tim Kuhlman. Toshiba will unveil its consumer PCs next month, followed by its corporate desktops in the first quarter of next year and servers by the end of 1997. No layoffs are planned at CSD, which is headed by general manager Tom Scott. Van Andrews, formerly VP sales, will oversee sales, service and support as SVP; Gary Mueller, is now SVP knowledge assets and operations. The Irvine, California-based division aims to be among the top three desktop vendors in the US by the year 2000.
