Toshiba America Information Systems Inc this week unveiled its second family of high-end servers, boasting advanced manageability, reliability and serviceability features. The company said its Magnia 7000 series of enterprise servers is ideal for mission-critical environments running advanced applications such as datawarehousing, database, e-commerce and high-volume business processing. The servers support up to four Intel Pentium II Xeon 400MHz processors and feature six hot- swappable drive bays and two hot-pluggable power supplies. The 400MHz Pentium II Xeon processor features either a 512KB or 1MB level 2 cache, 100MHz front-side bus, enhanced memory architecture and increased scalability advancements, Toshiba said. The servers also include Intel’s LANDesk Server Manager software, which provides support for the Wired for Management specification, designed to give network administrators a proactive management solution to help maximize uptime. Pricing for the 7000 server begins at $7,945.
