Toshiba Corp is expected to be first off the mark in the volume production of 4M-bit dynamic memory chips, aiming to get the next generation into production at its Oita factory in Southern Japan by the end of the year, modifying one of the lines on which it is currently fabricating 1M-bit memory chips.
