Having howled at how unfair it was that Toshiba Corp was being held responsible for the actions of a company in which it just happened to have a controlling interest, the Tokyo company is now trying another tack and has decided to crawl: apropos Toshiba Machine’s sale of advanced milling machines to the Soviet Union, Toshiba’s president Sugiichiro Watari told shareholders on Friday We deeply regret and condemn such actions by a company bearing the Toshiba name, which have caused serious anxiety to Japan’s partners in the Free World.
