TOSHIBA COMPLETES DEVELOPMENT OF THE SUPERSMART CARD FOR VISA

Toshiba Corp has now completed development of the SuperSmart Card requested by Visa International – it adds a 16-character liquid crystal diode display and 20 buttons to the microprocessor and memory of the conventional Smart Card – and trials are to begin with 120 Tokyo shoppers in June: Visa is planning to try the thing out in Europe, the US and Canada later in the year.
