TOSHIBA CLAIMS 4M EEPROM

By CBR Staff Writer

Toshiba Corp claims it has developed the world’s first 4M-bit EEPROM, and is touting the part, which can store 512Kb in one chip, as an alternative to floppy disk in small computers. The great increase in capacity was achieved by simplifying the conventional design. It is expected out in two to three years and should be around $16 in volume.
