TORAY DEVELOPS NEW IMAGE PROCESSING TECHNOLOGY

By CBR Staff Writer

Synthetic fibre manufacturer Toray Co has developed a new image processing technology that uses 32-bit ultra-small microprocessors to analyse the brightness and shape of images, and claims three times the processing speed and 10 times the precision of existing systems in identifying images by their shape and brightness using pattern-matching techniques: the technology will be incorporated in the MV-500 image processing system, which is out now at between $40,000 and $56,000.
