Cambridge-based online traffic management software provider Zeus Technology has said that London’s online restaurant reservation site toptable.com is adopting its traffic management software Zeus Traffic Manager 7.0 to improve the website’s performance.

The software is expected to help toptable.com, a site that enables diners to book at more than 3,000 restaurants across the UK, to offer anytime online bookings, even during peak periods, and in providing customers with swift and effective responses to their queries.

It puts the URLs from different markets into a national language URL structure, making shorter and more user-friendly domains which fetch better rankings in search engines.

The new software also reportedly increases security by identifying and automatically blocking potential malicious attacks on the site which provides reservations for three million diners at restaurants each year.

Zeus Technology chief marketing officer Kosten Metreweli said users have greater expectations from sites such as toptable.

"Providing an exceptional online service by ensuring a fast, secure and available website presence is critical to help toptable.com retain customers and build brand loyalty".
