Top 5 metal-bodied smartphones

Time to ditch the plastic for something sturdier?

By Vinod

Smartphone design has come on immeasurably in the last decade as devices have become an ever-more important part of everyday life, as consumers now look for a sturdy piece of kit which won’t shatter into a million pieces if accidentally dropped. This means that tough, metal-based designs have become more common, especially in top-line devices – so if you fancy getting a bit of metal in your life, here are five of the best…

Sony Xperia Z2

Sony’s flagship Xperia model is a beautiful sight to behold, featuring a one-piece aluminium frame that provides a solid feel when holding. The Z2 is an impressive piece of kit as well, featuring a 5.2inch screen powered by a top of the line Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor running at 2.3Ghz, backed up by 3GB of RAM. It’s also waterproof to a depth of 1.5m, meaning you can use the impressive 20.7MP camera to take pictures or shoot 4K video underwater.
