With a decent battery life and a high quality screen, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is everything you should expect from Samsung in a new Note flagship. It’s been upgraded with a metal frame, and feels more premium than its predecessors. Samsung has stuck to a 5.7-inch display to straddle the line between phone and tablet. Just before release, Samsung even created a 220-pound robotic butt to bend-test the device in an attempt to not repeat Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus bending issue.
Here are ten of its best features…
Screen
With a killer 5.7-inch, quad HD Super AMOLED screen, the Note 4 shows off colours vividly for a high-resolution, web-optimised viewing experience.
Camera
Samsung has upped the ante with the Note 4’s camera, making it 16MP with Smart OIS. The front-facing camera is a hefty 3.7MP with an F1.9 lens.
Smart select
With smart select, users can freely select text and content on the screen with the S Pen. The content can then be pulled together and saved or shared straight away.
Photo Note
Photo Note is a cool little feature which allows users to scribble on the back of photos just like a real photograph.
Advanced S Pen
The S Pen (stylus)has a better design which makes it feel far more ‘pen’ like. It’s a great tool for digital handwriting with enhanced pressure sensitivity.
Improved battery
Charging speed has been made much faster on the Note 4. Users can now charge from empty to 50% in 30 minutes, something which can can usually take up to 50 minutes. An Ultra Power Saving mode is also now available on the Note 4.
Multitasking
Using simple swipe gestures, users can now multitask easy by managing applications on a single screen.
Design
The overall design has been improved on the Note 4, with a premium finish that includes a metal skirt around the phone. It’s 176g which is a tiny bit more than the Note 3.
Heartrate monitor
As is becoming the standard now, the Note 4 features a heart rate monitor on the back of the phone.
Better call quality
With improved noise suppression and adaptive volume control, background noises are less of a pain with the Note 4, even with speakerphone. There’s also an enhanced voice recorder for interviews and noisy lunchtime meetings.
