IBM Corp’s Tivoli Systems Inc has moved founder and chief executive Frank Moss upstairs to the role of chairman, with president and chief operating officer Jan Lindelow swapping out his COO role for that of the CEO. Moss is now responsible for company strategy with Lindelow in charge of the day-to-day running of the business. Both report directly to John M Thompson, senior VP and software executive at IBM. The move was part of the plan when Lindelow joined, said the company. Lindelow was installed in June, with responsibility for worldwide sales and marketing, product development, operations and business development. He came from bar code transaction system company Symbol Technologies, where he was president and COO. At the time the IBM unit said the addition of Lindelow would enable Moss to concentrate on strategy more. Tivoli’s TME 10 product competes mainly against Computer Associates International Inc’s Unicenter NG and Hewlett-Packard Co’s OpenView products.
