IBM Corp’s Tivoli Systems Inc says it’s now shipping an application management module for use with its TME Tivoli Management Environment systems management software. The Application Policy manager is the final component of the company’s TME 10 suite and includes a Java interface. The complete TME 10 suite costs from $250,000. Tivoli and its workload management and system management software partners have written a scheduling API specification they will support in their respective products enabling customers to use different management programs in conjunction with each other. The partners include cybermation, ISA, New Dimension Software, Platinum Technology and Tivoli’s Unison Software acquisition. The API includes 22 APIs for workload management and identifies 37 common events generated by workload management products. Tivoli’s also offering a TME 10 suite of database management programs for monitoring databases servers based upon DBMX Ltd’s Enterprise Server Manager, the joint venture company formed with Oracle Corp in 1995 now wholly-owned by Tivoli.
