The new solution supports laboratories to work more efficiently and improves hospitals’ co-operation. The agreement strengthens TietoEnator’s position as an important IT supplier in the Danish healthcare sector and the Danish laboratory market.
The solution will include the laboratory system FlexLab/Chemistry which manages analysis and quality assurance of blood tests, as well as a requests and answers system, which enables doctors and nurses to order tests and see the results online.
Martin Broch-Pedersen, responsible for TietoEnator’s healthcare businesses in Denmark, said: The contract with Region Zealand gives TietoEnator critical mass in the market for laboratory solutions and a solid platform for further growth. Unlike in other areas of healthcare IT, the tendency in the laboratory sector is to purchase international standard solutions that are adapted locally. TietoEnator has a strong product portfolio that is suited to the Danish market. We will continue our strategy and increase our presence in Denmark by selling both laboratory and other healthcare IT solutions.
