According to Tibco, the three-year business change initiative will help ensure that all regulatory activities, including permitting and compliance are delivered within a shared infrastructure, using a defined framework of common processes.
The Environment Agency is leveraging Tibco business process management and service-oriented architecture software to deliver independent platform-neutral support for its heterogeneous IT environment. The agency will have the ability to capture and model business processes across different regulatory regimes and implement best practices. The project will also enable the Agency to incentives customer self-service and take a risk-based approach to assessment, focusing on the higher-risk areas it is regulating.
Dave Clarke, program executive at the Environment Agency, said: Our goal is to help the Agency deliver maximum effectiveness in its regulatory activities with a more proportionate, consistent and timely approach to its operations. We want to focus our efforts where we can make the most difference. We chose to work with Tibco because of its technology neutral approach, meaning we are not tied in to any one platform.
