TI to provide IP phone platform for Ittiam

US-based Texas Instruments has partnered with India-based digital software developer Ittiam Systems to develop a customizable IP video phone platform.

By CBR Staff Writer

TI’s gigabit Ethernet IP phone platform with Telogy Software for VoIP and its DaVinci technology, will be combined with Ittiam’s video engine software to provide video conferencing and streaming for large enterprises, SMBs, and residential customers.

The partnership builds on a May 2007 deal when Ittiam delivered video security and infrastructure optimized media technologies based on TI’s DaVinci processors for surveillance and infrastructure system requirements.

Fred Zimmerman, director of CPE solutions at TI’s voice solutions business unit, said: TI’s partnership with Ittiam allows our customers to introduce compelling video conferencing and streaming video capabilities into their product offering by empowering them with powerful TI DaVinci video processing capabilities, TI’s proven VoIP solutions, and Ittiam’s robust video engine software.
