Texas Instruments Inc is planning a $10m Bejing-based joint venture specializing in digital information product design according to a Chinese computer magazine. It reported that the Changxinjia Information Technologies Company Limited will be jointly established by TI and three state-owned partners with the US firm holding a 30% stake in the venture. Great Wall Science & Technology Company will be the largest shareholder with 35%.
The paper claims that Changxinjia will be the first Sino-foreign joint venture in China to specialize in digital information product design. It said that the company will initially concentrate on the design of digital audio products, network computers and digital cameras, but will later expand into the design of radio telecom products. Changxinjia will provide complete value-added design solutions for the manufacturers of end-user products in China, it said.
