The new processor is ideal for low-power applications such as digital and IP video cameras, digital photo frames and video baby monitors. Applications such as medical imaging products, ultra-low-cost digital video recorders and portable test equipment will also benefit from the use of this technology.
The corresponding development tools, the DM355 digital video evaluation module, will help designers quickly and easily create low-cost portable, digital video devices with video capability.
Paul Buckley, senior vice president of product and supplier marketing at Newark, said: We’re pleased to be among the first distributors to offer design engineers a low-cost, low-power solution to add HD video functionality. Our customers can continue to expect to find the latest technology products on our website.
