In a reorganisation set up to avoid a proxy battle for control of the company’s board, Alpha Microsystems, Santa Ana, California, has elected three new independent directors, Rock Hankin, Peter Weiner, and Leon Brachman, to join the board from last Monday; the new directors replace Richard Cortese, the previous president and chief executive of Alpha Micro; Fred Krimm; and Neil Diver; three of the company’s original founders will stay on the board, and the management transition plan was unanimously approved by the previous board.
