Jean Leprince, former vice-president of the Pinault papermaker group, has created a new $65m-a-year telecommunications services company out of three separate companies all involved in the installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems. Together with finance house Ciclad SA, Leprince acquired the majority of the capital in Serit, Telecom and Signatel for around $35m reports Agence France Presse: Leprince is the principle shareholder of the group, to be called Sogestel SA, with Ciclad taking a third of the shares; Lion Expansion PME, BNP Developpement, la Caisse Centrale des Banques Populaire and Sodero hold the balance.
