THORN EMI SELLS US SUBSISIARY SYSTRON DONNER

As it said it would last week when it announced its results (CI No 1,437), Thorn EMI Plc has sold its US subsidiary Systron Donner to BEI Electronics of San Francisco: BEI paid $22m for the four companies that make up Systron; the news drove Thorn’s shares up 13 to 763p.
