THOMSON SA TO CREATE THOMSON CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SA

Rationalising its consumer businesses – televisions, videos, home computers and similar goods – Thomson SA is to merge its US Thomson Consumer Electronics Inc interests acquired from RCA Corp and its parent GE Co with its Thomson Grand Public unit in France to create Thomson Consumer Electronics SA.
