THOMSON MICROSYSTEMS ADDS INTELLIGENT GRAPHICS CONTROLLER CARD TO ITS VME RANGE

Thomson Microsystems – the systems arm of the French company’s chipmaking subsidiary, has added an intelligent graphics controller card to its VME range: based on the TS68483 graphics controller chip operating at 17MHz, it enables 10 memory planes of 1,024 by 1,024 bits to be used as eight video planes plus two masking planes, and 256 colours are available from 256,000; graphics primitives and Unix drivers are available for it.
