Televerket, the Swedish state phone company has decided it was a mistake to buy Ada development software specialist Telesoft Inc, San Diego and turn the company into Telesoft AB. Thomson-CSF SA has come up with an undisclosed sum to buy the company as a present for Alsys SA, the company sold to Thomson by Ada onlie begetter Jean Ichbiah in September 1991. The combination of Alsys and Telesoft will create a company with annual turnover of about $40m, putting it head to head with market leader Rational Inc, which claims 25% of the Ada business.The separate implementations and cross-compilers are to be converged in a new Ada9X.
