THIEME INCREASES HIS STAKE IN SPECTRUM

By CBR Staff Writer

And the largest institutional holder in Spectrum Information Technologies Inc, Heiko Thieme, chairman of the American Heritage Fund, says he has raised his stake in the company to 1.4m shares or 2%, and is trying to pour oil on troubled waters: he says he believes a settlement between Spectrum and former chairman and chief executive John Sculley is a possibility and he will do anything he can to help the sides settle; he says that if he were to speak with Peter Caserta, Spectrum’s president, he would tell him he has lost all confidence in Caserta’s abilities and would ask him to step down; Two egos might have gotten in the way, said Thieme – I will do my utmost to assure that neither side will appear to be the loser and keep this company together for the benefit of the shareholders, Thieme promised.
