THE US-JAPAN SEMICONDUCTOR ACCORD

By CBR Staff Writer

The good news for believers in the US-Japan Semiconductor Accord is that according to the Ministry of International Trade & Industry, Japanese imports of US chips for the April to June quarter were 12.5% of the total bought, up from 11.7% in the January to March period: the bad news is that a lot of shipments that should have been booked into the March figures went into April, so that there was actually little if any growth in share.
