THE US EPA DROPS SPECS

The US Environmental Protection Agency has dropped from its request for proposals for an image processing system three key specifications criticised for limiting competition, says Federal Computer Week: it dropped specs for a Unix-based image file server, the requirement for Structured Query Language and loosened specs for local area networking, accepting networks other than Ether-.
