THE UNITED TELECOM, US SPRINT COMM JOINT VENTURE TURNED INTO A LIMITED PARTNERSHIP

The US Federal Communications Commission has approved a petition from United Telecommunications Inc to turn its US Sprint Communications Co joint venture with GTE Corp into a Limited Partnership in which United will become the general partner: GTE will be selling 30.1% of the shares to United Telecom on January 3, to give United 80.1% of the presently equally-owned firm.
