THE UK DSS’S COMPUTER OPERATION TO BE PUT INTO HANDS OF AN AGENCY

The UK Department of Social Security’s massive pensions, unemployment and social security benefits computer operation is to be put into the hands of an agency that will operate it under contract, will set its own rates of pay, and be free to make a profit by selling surplus time, and employ contract staff to minimise trades union disruption.
